Students addicted to media

Filed under: Uncategorized — alex714 at 7:38 pm on Friday, May 7, 2010

After reading this article, I do think that Students are addicted to their media. whether it is cell phones, internet, or ipods. Students need to focus more on school than on new media. I think that the newest technologies are taking over the world because nothing matters anymore except for the newest iphone or smart phones.

I think that this website4 would be helpful to usefor different classes because it is a unique and fun way to learn material. An example would be skits or even dialogue presentations where there is multiple people involved. I think this website would be great for history presentations.

Sophmore year

This semester I’ve learned a lot, not only educational wise but life wise. Ive had fun meeting my new teachers for this year that have helped me in every possible way, I have gotten to know people who didn’t really get to know last year, have not only had laughter and happiness but also struggled this semester. Although this semester turned out differently than what i expected, this year has been a lot better than last year so far. I have learned so much this semester in all my classes; However, what i remember the most about in my classes is the assembly line, genetics, and my geometry class this semester.

In my History class with Mrs.Gerlach I have learned many things but what I really enjoyed learning was the assembly line.Which included working in factories and having the patience to do the same thing over and over again for the longest time. What i really liked about learning this topic in history was that Mrs.Gerlach made fun by creating an activity for us. She put us in an assembly line making cupcakes and each person had a different task to complete in a certain amount of time after wards we all had a chance to eat the cupcake. That activity was really fun because Mrs.Gerlach made it fun!

Second, My biology class was a lot of fun too because we had many different labs. My favorite lab would have to be “The maybe baby lab” because this lab had to do with genetics. In this lab we partnered up with someone and had to create a baby. Mrs.Tormey gave us a packet that included phenotypes and the genotypes of the baby. For an example, we had to flip a coin to choose whether our child had brown hair or blond hair. It was a lot of fun looking at all the different babies in the end but most of all it was interesting learning about genetics.

Lastly, Geometry class. There is not just one thing i can choose from geometry class that i liked because i liked everything. Ms.Ernest made it a lot easier to learn all the different concepts. She gave us activities to make the class fun and when we didn’t understand something she is eager to help. She defines all or geometry terms in depth so we comprehend them in a better way.

I think i would like to learn more mathematics because even though we don’t see it, math is in our everyday life. It’s very important to learn this subject because it is a good source for our future lives and jobs. Therefore this semester I’ve learned a lot in all my classes.
